As a dancer since the age of 4, she initially became interested in Pilates as a reliable cross-training practice to support her dance endeavors. Her genuine love for movement and the mind-body connection only enhanced her experiences with Pilates, both as a teacherand practitioner.
She hopes to share her practice and understanding with others who are also looking for support through cross-training.
I graduated from my dream school, Cornell University, where I studied Human Development and met my husband, Nick.
After graduating, I followed Nick to Atlanta, GA where I worked as a Social Skills Teacher and psychotherapist while earning my Master’s degree in Counseling from Georgia State University.
I completed comprehensive Pilates Instructor Training with Power Pilates and constantly diversify my training with continuing education courses from a wide range of talented Pilates trainers. I currently teach private sessions and mat classes at Thrive.
My goal is to motivate and challenge my clients with an intense workout, while maintaining a gentle and compassionate approach. I’m all about being present with my client and facilitating the workout he/she needs in the moment.
My nutritional training began with my personal experiences in healing through nutrition. Although my health improved after my surgeries, I began having symptoms of Crohn’s disease while I was a graduate student. My doctors put me on more medication and performed more surgeries, to no avail. Finally I met nutrition and healing coach, Catherine Carrigan of Total Fitness in Atlanta, GA., who taught me to heal my body through changes in diet and lifestyle. I studied with Catherine in her Nutritional Mastery Course and later graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition becoming a Certified Health Coach.
I trained in Baptiste style Power Yoga, with my business partner and friend, Steve Gold of Philly Power Yoga. I have been practicing yoga since my days at Cornell and now enjoy taking and teaching yoga at Thrive and Philly Power Yoga. I teach private yoga sessions upon request.
